The name NELSON RACING ENGINES has become synonmous with extreme horspower applications.

Nelson Racing Engines opened their doors in 1995. 11 years later, owner Tom Nelson creates combinations with the passion he had when building hot rods as a teen for his friends. "That's what keeps us at our best. There is so much to learn. I'm always a student," says Tom. "I eat, sleep, and breathe my profession and want to provide my customers with the best that I can offer. New Video: Keep it Under the Hood - the NRE 572 Manifold
Posted Monday 07-27-2009Tired of running carburetor are and the large cowl hood that goes along with it? Tired of seeing a distributor with a web of wiresand having no control of the advance curve? Do you love the idea of fuel injection, but don't want to deal with the hassle of learning how to use the computer control? Not satisfied your big 572 only producing 620hp?
It's ok...you're not alone.
To help Gm 572 crate engine owners, we developed our new 100% billet aluminum intake, igniton and fuel injection package as a bolt-on for the GM 572.
The NRE 100% billet intake manifold features intregal fuel regulation with a built-in throttle body and twin 68mm throttle blades.

Full laptop programmable fuel management fuel injection sytem featuring a distributorless 60=tooth crank trigger ignition system with 4 coil packs
The intake houses all the sensors linkage and injectors on the inside of the manifold.

It literally looks too clean to be a working engine!With everything hidden, its hard to believe.
We recently dyno'd and devolped this package and came out with some incredible results.The factory 572 with GM Carb made 627 hp at 5800 rpm. We then tested a Hogan sheetmetal intake with a 1900 cfm monoblade throttle body resulting with 659hp at 5800 rpm. The NRE 100% billet intake developed a whopping 680 peak horsepower at 5700 rpm and the torque curve is like nothing you've seen - 650 ftlbs at 3500 with a peak of 685 ft lbs at 4800 rpm! At 5500 rpm it made 650 ft lbs - within 2000 rpm the torque only varied 35 ft lbs of torque!
To say were pleased is an understatement. The throttle responce that this manifold adds to the engine is like nothing you ever felt. Watch the video and see for yourself how amazing this package transforms the 572 crate motor.
