Reincarnating a Legend
Posted Wednesday 06-24-2009Talking on the phone with the legendary Ron Johnson, was more like talking to an old racing buddy and trying to make up for time lost. Ron Johnson today wears many hats in part mostly because of his long history in the car/truck fabricating business and his most recent project is no exception.
Johnson is rebuilding and breathing new life to the notorious ‘Goodyear Grabber Olds’ originally driven by James Garner now owned by Ron. Professional driver Rick Johnson will not only be attending the Norra Mexican 1000 but he will be driving this beast the whole distance with Ron Johnson handling the co driver responsibilities. I couldn’t think of a better place myself to unveil a project of this caliber.
I want to take this opportunity to personally thank Ron and his team for the opportunity to help out his team and a vehicle with such a unique racing history. Good luck!
